Job Description

Primary responsibilities include:
• Acts as an advisor and provider, with scope of practice and providing expertise to nurses and other pharmacists. Collaborates with the pharmacy team to provide clinical support as needed
• Provides on-site in-service presentations; Identify new articles in the oncology space for team education; Lead journal club discussion to highlight clinical pearls and considerations
• Consistently responds to requests for questions or assistance in a timely and cooperative manner
• Assist in the evaluation of medication orders for appropriateness of therapy, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration
• Makes recommendations for therapy changes to physicians and provides guidance to pharmacy team as appropriate
• Assist pharmacy team with implementation of policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, distribution and use of drugs and biological, as well as disposal of drugs
• Participates in quality improvement, medication use review, clinical activities and/or patient education as needed

Job Requirements

Currently licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of New Jersey. Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education. 2 years oncology experience preferred.
