Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer & Vice President, the Director of Major Gifts manages all aspects of the development process to successfully reach major, annual and planned giving prospects. This position is responsible for seeking out opportunities and developing and implementing initiatives to identify, cultivate and solicit prospects to ensure a strong base of ongoing financial support. The Director is entrusted with major donor relations and stewardship activities. The successful candidate will exceed expectations.

Job Requirements

Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred. Five to seven years successful experience in major or planned gift fundraising, preferably in the medical field. Ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership and major gift donors in order to develop relationships between them and the medical center. Knowledge of Raiser's Edge. Demonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully manage multi-functional or diverse areas. Successful experience in making cold calls as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated writing skills. Must be a highly energetic professional with a proven track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts of $50,000 and above. Reports to the Chief Development Officer & Vice President and works collaboratively with the CEO and Executive Management Team.
