Mental Health workers provide care to individuals with mental or emotional conditions or disabilities under the direction of nurses and physicians. They closely monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff. Some responsibilities include:
• Monitoring vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure • Perform EKGs • Draw labs and collect specimen from patients • Assist patients in their daily activities such as: eating, dressing, and bathing. • Provide therapeutic groups and recreational activities to patients. • Assist in non violent crisis intervention.
Bachelors degree required; previous experience in working with psychiatric and/or substance abuse patients preferred. Previous experience in psychology or sociology desirable. CPR within 6 months of hire required.
