Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Per Diem X-Ray Technologist to join our team. Operate x-ray equipment to make radiographs and/or computer images of designated portions of the body, under the direction of a radiologist and the supervision of a department supervisor. Adjusts and sets radiographic controls, to prescribed specifications for proper timing of exposure; regulates the length and intensity of film exposure. Positions and restrains patients; and takes X-rays of patients' chest, limbs, or other parts of the body as requested by physicians. Checks X-rays for clarity of image, and retakes X-rays when needed. Develops, fixes, washes, and dries exposed films using film processing and drying equipment. Maintains required records such as patient records, daily logbooks, and monthly reports. Distributes films to appropriate medical staff. Maintains quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies. Implements infection control procedures for the work area. Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment. Protects patient and other personnel from radiation hazards. Maintains radiographic supplies, film, and equipment. Performs related work as assigned.

Job Requirements

Current New Jersey State License in Radiography; ARRT with CEU compliance or Registry eligible preferred; CPR (unless exempt with written documentation) within three months of employment in this position. 1 year experience preferred.
