Performs sleep studies for pediatric (>18 months old), adult, and geriatric patients. Demonstrates proper placement of leads and wires (10-20 setup). Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots all sleep equipment, as well as pulse oximetry, transcutaneous monitoring, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and CPAP/BIPAP devices during the acquisition of the sleep study. Titrates CPAP/BIPAP according to AASM guidelines. Scores sleep study according to AASM guidelines. Achieves Interscoring reliability > 85%. Completes all charges. Coordinates dictation, transcription, final report, archiving, filing, and mailing process for sleep studies. Maintains inventory control. Completes yearly CME requirements.
Graduate of sleep study program. Trainee license allowable provided the employee is directly supervised by a registered polysomnographer, otherwise muse be registered by BRPT, AASM, or NBRC and licensed by the state of NJ. Must have current BLS card by AHA. Prefer at least one year experience, but will train.
