Job Description

Position Duties include:

Responsible for processing Insurance Claims that include but are not limited to billing and follow up functions; Bill or follow up on all Inpatient and Outpatient Insurance claims and ensure compliance with contracts/billing regulations; Review and Research all billing edits/errors in the hospital billing system as well as the electronic claim scrubber software systems; Initiate Rebills as necessary; Work Secondary claims as assigned; Review and report DRG discrepancies; Work remittance advice reports as assigned by Supervisor; Review and report any trends in denials, and handle any appeals ; Follow up on recoupment’s reports; Credit Balances Reports; Work age trial balance as assigned by Supervisor; Perform eligibility reviews; Work and maintain a current A/R, as assigned by Supervisor; Meet Departmental Productivity Standards and Compliance Standards; Any other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Requirements

High School diploma; billing certificate preferred Two years hospital billing experience in specialty area (ambulance, renal, cancer, or psychiatry).
